Review: La Flor Dominicana Salomon

Litto Gomez’s latest creation has quickly caused a buzz in the cigar world- and with it’s bold flavors and heavy stock, I suspect it has caused a bit of a buzz in smoking circles as well!

With a limited release of only 3000 boxes, the La Flor Dominicana Salomon is a perfect special occasion cigar. It’s a behemoth at 7 inches with a 64 ring guage, and is reported to last upwards of 2 hours- if smoked right.

Setting aside the necessary time is well worth it. The flavors are as large as the cigar itself. The smoke is strong and complex, landing the La Flor on Cigar Aficianado’s Top 25 Cigars of 2009 by Cigar Aficianado. Ranking at 13, it is also the thickest cigar to make it into the top 25.

If you’re up to the challenge, this can be a great cigar- just be sure to get at this limited edition powerhouse while they’re still around.
